Work Environment Assessment Results
My Work Environment Assessment showed that overall civility at my workplace is moderate. Most colleagues communicate respectfully and cooperate well. However, there are occasional lapses in professionalism, especially during stressful situations. The assessment revealed that while respect is generally maintained, some employees display passive-aggressive behavior or dismissive attitudes. This affects teamwork and morale to a small degree. Despite these issues, management promotes a positive culture and encourages open communication, which helps maintain civility. Overall, the workplace environment is mostly civil but has room for improvement.
Experience with Workplace Incivility
Once, I witnessed a coworker speaking harshly to another over a missed deadline. The tone was disrespectful, causing tension among the team. The incident was addressed promptly by our supervisor, who called a private meeting with both employees. They discussed the importance of respectful communication and problem-solving without blame. The supervisor also offered conflict resolution resources and encouraged the team to express concerns constructively. This approach helped restore professionalism and reduced similar incidents. It showed that incivility, when managed properly, can lead to positive change and improved workplace relations. Effective leadership and clear communication are essential in promoting civility.
