Identifying a Relevant Theory for Emergency Nurse Practitioners
One effective theory applicable to emergency nurse practitioners is Roy’s Adaptation Model. This model emphasizes how individuals respond to changes. It focuses on promoting adaptation in four domains: physiologic, self-concept, role function, and interdependence. In fast-paced emergency settings, patients often encounter acute, life-altering situations. The model encourages holistic care by addressing these rapid physical and psychological changes.
