1. Research Topic and Relevance
The topic of my proposed research is “Nurse Burnout Prevention Strategies.” I chose this topic because nurse burnout is a growing concern that affects patient care, staff retention, and the overall health system. It is closely related to health care administration because hospital managers and administrators play a key role in shaping work environments that prevent or contribute to burnout.
2. Sample Population and Research Type
I will focus on registered nurses (RNs) working in inpatient hospital settings, particularly in high-stress departments like emergency and intensive care units. The research will be mixed methods—combining quantitative surveys to measure burnout levels with qualitative interviews to explore personal experiences and organizational influences. This approach allows for both broad measurement and in-depth understanding.
3. Methodology and Data Analysis
I will use validated survey tools such as the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) to collect quantitative data. In-depth interviews will also be conducted to explore perceptions of burnout causes and effective coping strategies.
