Physical Activity Across the Lifespan

Engaging in consistent physical activity is one of the most evidence-based strategies for preventing Alzheimer’s disease. Regular aerobic exercise improves blood flow to the brain, stimulates neurogenesis, and enhances synaptic plasticity. According to the Alzheimer’s Association and findings from the Lancet Commission on Dementia Prevention, even moderate physical activity in midlife and later years can significantly delay the onset or reduce the severity of cognitive decline. Activities like walking, swimming, or yoga not only improve cardiovascular health but also support mental well-being and neuroprotection.

Sugar’s Role in Neurodegeneration

Excessive consumption of refined sugar and high-glycemic foods has been linked to increased risk of Alzheimer’s.
