Practice 5: Listen to Outsiders

This practice emphasizes paying attention to those outside the church or ministry. It encourages leaders to understand the needs, struggles, and worldviews of the unchurched. Applying this to community ministry means conducting surveys, engaging in conversations, and showing compassion. Listening builds trust and shapes programs that meet real-life concerns. It opens doors for meaningful outreach and gospel engagement, making the ministry more relevant and responsive.

Practice 6: Replace Yourself

Ministry sustainability requires training others to lead. Replacing yourself doesn’t mean abandoning responsibility—it means multiplying your impact. Leaders should identify and mentor potential leaders within camps or community ministries. This builds a leadership pipeline and ensures the ministry continues beyond the current team.
