Researchers must first identify their target audience, which may include healthcare providers, policymakers, academic peers, and patients. Tailoring the message to the needs and comprehension levels of these groups is essential.  In such cases, the use of plain language summaries, infographics, and community presentations becomes vital (Brownson et al., 2018).

Dissemination strategies can be passive or active. Passive methods include publishing in scientific journals and uploading findings to institutional repositories. While necessary for credibility and scholarly contribution, these methods alone often have limited reach. Active dissemination involves presentations at conferences, webinars, policy briefs, and engaging through social media platforms.

An effective dissemination plan should be developed early in the research process. Incorporating dissemination goals into grant proposals and involving stakeholders from the beginning helps increase relevance and adoption.
